Product Description

Turn and finish a drilled-through wooden spindle on your lathe with this convenient Mandrel Jam Chuck System. Ideal for turning Peppermill and Kaleidoscope blanks, and so much more. To use, drill a hole completely through your spindle. Use the proper accessories to fasten the drilled-through spindle on the mandrel. Mount the mandrel in the lathe headstock using the #2MT arbor. For support, lock the tailstock in place with a 60 degree live center. Center, adjust, and tighten sufficiently to prevent the spindle from spinning when turning. System includes: (1) 9" threaded mandrel shaft 3/8" x 16tpi , (1) #2MT arbor, (3) sets of jam chuck wheels that are 1", 1-1/2", and 2" in diameter, (3) sets of corresponding washers, (6) lock nuts 3/8" x 16tpi, (1) tightening wrench, (4) spacer bushings, (1) instruction sheet. The lock nuts and washers are needed to mount and expand the jam chuck wheels. The system holds a spindle up to 7" long. Collets are made to slide inside drilled holes 1", 1-1/2", and 2" in diameter.
